A Tribute to Carl

Walter McCray

 

Carl Walter McCray sadly passed away on

September 30, 2014.  His absence in the

activities hung heavily over our heads

and in our hearts.  The Scholarship

Committee definitely had to do some-

thing to honor his memory and express

to his family the appreciation shown for

all the hard work he put into organizing

and playing in the alumni games.

 

Many of his family members were present on Saturday, May 23, 2015, as we played our sixth alumni game.  During half-time, at least 20 members of his family took center court as we proudly recognized his wife, Mary Ann, his sons, James and Carl, grandson, Damarion, mother, Shirley, and mother-in-law, Mary Jane White, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

 

A Plaque was presented to his wife along with a bouquet of flowers.  Flowers were also presented to his mother and mother-in-law, with an additional plaque presented to his sons.
